What Is Indigo Salt

Indigo Salt is a culinary rock-salt collection built around rare natural indigo colour, careful selection and practical table formats. It is not the name of a single mineral species or one mine. It is the name of our finished food products and the method used to create them.
The raw material begins as natural salt formed over geological time. Within some deposits, a small portion of the halite develops blue, violet or indigo colour. These pieces are unusual, and their appearance can vary widely. We identify suitable material, compare samples and select it for flavour, texture, visual character and the product specification required for each batch.
Our precise source map, grading system and blending ratios are proprietary. Keeping that process confidential allows us to protect the work behind the product, but it does not replace transparency. Composition, nutrition, food-safety and legally required origin information must be stated for each product and market.
Indigo Salt comes in three families. Indigo Salt is the everyday culinary range, offered in coarse, fine, pinch and refill formats. Indigo Crystals presents whole pieces for grating, display and gifting. Heart of Salt is a clean, versatile rock salt made for frequent cooking and refilling.
Natural variation is expected. A whole crystal may show a concentrated area of colour, while ground salt often appears much paler because the coloured structure has been broken into many small particles. That change is normal. Use Indigo Salt as you would use any culinary salt: thoughtfully and in moderation.
